When the struggle is real, write!

When the struggle is real, your drive should be the realest. That’s just the way I see it. I’m sure that there are many of us out there that if we missed one or two checks, we would be in quite a bad situation. Isn’t that an awful feeling? I, for one, am trying to establish a lucrative side hustle. I also want to feel as though I am getting all I can out of the degree I am still paying Sallie Mae for.

I can admit to you that I am casting my net wide. Realistically, I can crank out a picture book manuscript every couple of days. I can, but I try not too. Why? I don’t want to rush. When I get a new idea, I jot it down. I work on it if I’m currently stuck on something else. I do work on several manuscripts at a time. So far, it works out that I always have at least one other story I can work on if I’m not sure where I’m going with one.

I feel like my goal of being a (successful) published writer isn’t that different from any other goal. Isn’t the whole idea to do all you can, the best way that you can to come out on top (and stay there)?
